Get ready to read: Charlotte Mecklenburg Library will offer free reading clubs June 14-Aug. 9. Each library will offer age-appropriate clubs for babies/pre-schoolers, children and teens. Volunteer of the month: Candace Dumont, a Lake Norman resident for 13 years, recently was named Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce's Volunteer of the Month. She volunteers at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, the Town of Cornelius and The American Red Cross.
Exit, bridge lighting: N.C. Department of Transportation has hired a contractor to rewire and work on street lights and pole lights at Exit 28, Cornelius. This repair is schedule to be complete prior to June 30.
New speed limits: The speed limit has been changed from 35 mph to 25 mph on the Jetton Road Extension/Sefton Park Road.
Photo farewell: National Geographic chose a photo of a bowl of soup with a message by Davidson Day School photography teacher and creative director Paul Cotter to feature in its "Your Shot" page.
