Hours: Gates open to the public at 3 p.m. Friday gates for the Taster's Choice competition and grandstand events. Gates will reopen to the public at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Activities: Sample barbecue from participating teams. Get a sample from five different teams or all five from one team then cast your vote for your favorite. Music on Barbecue serving lines are open 11 a.m.-3 p.m., while the entertainment stage has acts noon-1:30 p.m. Ticket information: e-mail email@example.com. Cost: There is no gate charge for Friday evening events. Friday the gates will be open 3-10 p.m. Saturday gates open at 9 a.m. and close after the truck and tractor pull, about 7 p.m. $2 gate fee 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, but those holding an advance barbecue meal ticket enter free. If you leave the grounds, you will need to have your hand stamped in order to return without having to repay.

Directions from uptown: I-85 S. Take exit 10B to merge onto U.S. 74 W/Andrew Jackson Highway towards Kings Mountain/Shelby. Turn right at East Marion Street. Destination will be on the right.
