Huntersville 101: The Town of Huntersville will hold the first-ever Huntersville 101, a seven-week class about the town, its services and governmental processes. The first class begins Feb. 17 and meets Wednesdays 6-8 p.m. The free class is limited to 20 Huntersville residents. An application is available at www.huntersville.org/101.asp.
Recycling Day: The Tanners Creek neighborhood recycling will now be collected every other Friday beginning Feb. 4. Currently the neighborhood is split between routes, and the town worked to fix any confusion concerning collection days. Recyclables should be curbside by 7 a.m.
Never miss a local story.
Storm water fees: Davidson residents have received their semi-annual stormwater fee, which was included in January's water bills. Homeowners now pay between $38 and $71 more per year in stormwater fees. The increase in fees will help pay for increased infrastructure costs. The increase was approved as part of the 2010-2011 fiscal budget by the town board. The fees are billed every six months; the January bill covers the cycle from July through December 2010.
