With most of the chocolates from last month's holiday gone, it's a good time to look at some of the other restaurant offerings in Lake Norman.
One restaurant is going all-out, with a truly authentic Irish celebration for St. Patrick's Day, while others are opting for live music and drink specials. Another establishment has opened in the place of a popular waterfront locale that closed last year, and a quiet trattoria serves up Italian dishes and wine tastings in historic downtown Davidson.
Galway Hooker Restaurant
The St. Patrick's Day festivities will begin bright and early at 8 a.m. with a "Beer-n-Breakfast" at the Galway Hooker Restaurant and Irish Pub. Patrons are invited to bring folding chairs to the event, where the restaurant has lined up live music, door prizes, drink specials, face painting, cornhole games and Irish dancers.
Never miss a local story.
Patrons can sample authentic Irish cuisine throughout the day, and limited VIP tickets are available for $75. The price includes an open bar, Irish dinner buffet, late-night breakfast, VIP lounge access and a swag bag.
17044 Kenton Drive
The Rusty Rudder is gearing up for its own St. Patrick's Day celebration, starting at 8 p.m. with a variety of drink specials and live music from the band SplitFinger, a cover band featuring the music of artists including Toto, Journey, Jason Mraz and Gavin DeGraw.

Latitude 36 opened in February at Harborside Drive, formerly the location of Midtown Sundries.
Billing itself as a raw bar and grill on the lake, the restaurant's menu includes a mix of seafood favorites like crab dip, sashimi, oysters, clams, burgers, crab cakes, filet mignon and pasta. Kids eat free on Friday nights.
On St. Patrick's Day, Latitude 36 is opting for a Mexican flair, with acoustic music, $2 tacos and $3.60 margaritas.

Harvey's in Huntersville
Charlie Dyer and Luke Adams opened Harvey's in 2009 with the vision of a neighborhood brew pub without the brewery.
Located in the Vermillion neighborhood, Harvey's rotates in different beers from around the United States each month while maintaining a regular selection of domestics. The menu features salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta and ribs, as well as a children's menu.
Kids eat free on Tuesday nights with the purchase of an adult entrée. On St. Patrick's Day, Harvey's will offer its regular Thursday special; 16 oz. draft pours for a dollar.
