Personnel action: The Board of Commissioners voted to examine the feasibility of contracting with an outside company to manage services and workers at the War Memorial Pool this summer; voted to lift the hiring freeze; and approved the reclassification of an administrative specialist position to warehouse and purchasing technician and move that position to Finance.
New police cars: The Troutman Town Board will spend $102,896 for three new Crown Victoria Police Cars, using a lease-purchase agreement. The town plans to use proceeds of an insurance settlement to cover the initial payment as well as any extra vehicle repair costs.
Holiday schedule: The Catawba library system is closed April22-24. The Sherrills Ford Branch Library will host a preschool egg hunt at 10a.m. April20.
Churchill Senior Living: Stuart Madow, who has lived in Mooresville for 15 years, is the new community relations director at the healthcare facility, 140 Carriage Club Drive. Madow takes over the role from Glenn Ferrere who was promoted to executive director.
