Never miss a local story.
The goal of the Cornelius Community Garden Grant Program is to license or support properties for the cultivation of plants, herbs, fruits, flowers or vegetables by town residents. To support that goal, the town is accepting applications.
Qualified individuals, businesses, homeowner or property owner associations, and nonprofit organizations can apply for a license to use vacant or underused town-owned properties to grow food for personal consumption. Or they can apply for funding to develop a community garden on privately owned property.
Since this program is under the authority of the town’s PARC Department, applicants must agree to share use of any garden developed under this grant program with other Cornelius residents.
The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Dec. 1. The application is available at www.cornelius.org/parc. For more information call 704-892-6031.
