Golf Course: The Mooresville Golf Club is accepting membership applications at http://ci.mooresville.nc.us/616/Golf-Club-Memberships or by contacting Luke Steimke at 704-663-2539 or email@example.com. The memberships include single full golf, senior full golf, and weekday golf with a family option within each category. There is also a junior membership. Memberships, ranging from $2,250 annually to $1,500 annually, are available for residents and others. Range and cart plans are sold separately.
Police Department: The Davidson Police Department has been recognized as the first law enforcement agency in the state to complete a new Law Enforcement Risk Review Process begun by the North Carolina League of Municipalities. The program is designed to assess an agency’s adherence to best practices, court decisions, and policies and procedures related to high liability activities in law enforcement. The goal is to enhance public safety by reducing liability exposure, enhancing officer safety, and validating that policies, training and operating procedures are meeting industry standards.

Park dedication: Join the Cornelius PARC Department 9:30 a.m. Sept. 2 for a dedication ceremony for the new Cornelius Elementary School Neighborhood Park, 21126 Catawba Ave. The park includes four lighted T-ball fields, two multi-purpose fields, basketball court, walking trail, restroom building and parking improvements.
Coffee with a Cop on Sept. 6: The community is invited to meet with officers and talk about any subject – crime trends, neighborhood nuisance issues, public safety management and even sports. Bring the questions, talk with an officer and get a free cup of coffee. The event will be held 8:30-11 a.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at McDonald’s restaurant, 1035 Charlotte Highway.
Call for artists
Due date Sept. 9: The Caldwell Arts Council is seeking submissions for a new logo design. Artists may submit up to three designs for review. Each submission must contain the proposed logo design in two file formats: A vector graphic file in either .ai (Adobe Illustrator) or .eps (Encapsulated Postscript) format, and a high resolution (300 dpi) photo file in .jpg format
Submissions need to be received by 5 p.m. Sept. 9; $500 will be awarded to the winning submission. Submit your work via email, in zip files if necessary, to executive director Adrienne Roellgen, Adrienne@CaldwellArts.com.
