Girls stay with German families, play in soccer and finish second
Several Charlotte-area girls competed on a soccer team in Europe this summer for more than two weeks.
The girls first competed in the Lion's Cup (Ratzenburg, Germany) while living with German families. They were the only non-German team in the tournament and finished second in an advanced age group.
Later the girls competed in the Dana Cup in Denmark. They won their division, going undefeated and not allowing any goals. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the single-elimination tournament. Overall, the team went 14-2-1.
