Bryant Hinton is one interesting and very likable man. Born in Wayne County, Mich., and a Tennessee State University graduate, Hinton has been in Charlotte since 1991.
Prior to moving to our fair city, he was a medic in the Army, stationed at Fort Irwin, Calif. “I'm proud to be a veteran,” he said.
Hinton, 47, also taught drafting and wood shop at Inkster High School in Michigan.
His first job in Charlotte was for Orthopedic Hospital, now Presbyterian Hospital. “I admitted (former Charlotte Hornet) Larry Johnson when he came in for arthroscopic knee surgery,” Hinton said.
While he enjoyed working in the medical field, Hinton really wanted to spend more time outdoors. He started a company in 1993 that would satisfy that desire. Classic Finish Mobile Auto Detailing is a self-contained car cleaning company that comes to you.
“Our motto is ‘Quality and Convenience,'” said Hinton.
That the company has been in operation for 15 years says something about the work ethic, dedication and integrity of Hinton.
“Our repeat business is 87 percent, according to my computer,” Hinton said.
Rodney Clinton has been working for Hinton since 1994 and helps make the company successful. The company is licensed and insured and uses environmentally friendly products.
“We've worked on the automobiles of several pro athletes and businesspeople in the area over the years,” Hinton said. “One time Mrs. Haack (wife of jeweler Donald Haack) had lost a piece of jewelry that meant a lot to her, and while detailing her car, we found it and gave it to her. She was so incredibly happy that it made my day.”
Hinton is in a remarriage and he and his wife, Deidra, celebrated 10 years last Valentine's Day. The father of three “great sons,” Hinton says he has been blessed and keeps God first in his life.
With that he went back to work, then he turned and added, “If anyone wants to use our services, Classic Finish can be reached at 704-560-6357. Have a great day.”
I'm going to keep that number handy.
