One person was killed late Monday night in a five-vehicle crash that closed Interstate 77 in York County for several hours.
The S.C. Highway Patrol says five vehicles were involved in the fatal crash, which happened about 9:20 p.m. near mile marker 83 on I-77. That is a short distance north of Rock Hill.
The name of the victim has not been released, but troopers say he was a 17-year-old man from Lancaster, S.C. Troopers also say the victim was not wearing a seat belt.
There is no word as to what caused the wreck, or whether other people were injured. An investigation is continuing.
All lanes of I-77 were reopened during the overnight hours.
