A friend, Anita Greene of Fort Mill, was telling me about Kinard House Bed and Breakfast in Ninety Six, S.C. Anita stays there when she visits her daughter on Lake Greenwood, and she really enjoys the breakfast.
Kinard House is a Victorian home built in 1884. It's on the National Register of Historic Places. Owner Karen Breasbois was kind enough to share her recipe for homemade granola.
For information about Kinard House, call 864-543-2286 or go to www.kinardhouse.org.
Mary Robinson of Rock Hill also makes a really good homemade granola mix. It's a no-cook cereal mixture that she believes helps lower cholesterol.
Never miss a local story.
You can buy good granola cereals at stores like Earth Fare, but there's something satisfying about making it yourself, and it is fairly inexpensive and delicious.
