Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools hosts community meetings on boundary options for seven new schools:
Belmeade Road middle : 6-8 p.m. Monday at Whitewater Academy (1340 Belmeade Drive) and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at West Mecklenburg High (7400 Tuckaseegee Road). Belmeade is expected to affect Coulwood, Sedgefield, Wilson and Kennedy middle schools. It should open 2009-10.
Dixie River Road, Youngblood Road/Steele Creek Road and York Road/Fez Club Road elementaries: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Wylie Elementary (13620 Erwin Road) and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at West Mecklenburg High (7400 Tuckaseegee Road).
Dixie River Road and Youngblood Road/Steele Creek Road are expected to open in 2009-10. York Road/Fez Club Road is expected to open in 2010-11. Dixie River Road is expected to affect Berryhill and Steele Creek elementaries. The other new schools would affect Lake Wylie and Winget Park elementaries.
The school board is expected to hear a presentation on boundary recommendations Oct. 14 at the Government Center (600 E. 4th St.) and approve recommendations at its Nov. 12 meeting at the Government Center.
