Area restaurants and civic clubs are gearing for the holidays with baked pumpkin pies, Thanksgiving dinners to go, candy-making classes and smoked barbecue pork and chicken.
Decadent Designs Bakery offers seasonal pies, tarts and desserts for the holidays. Thanksgiving flavors include old-fashioned apple, pumpkin and bourbon pecan. Wolfgang Puck Carolina Bistro offers a completes holiday feast for 6-8 people for $139.95 that includes roasted rosemary turkey breast, traditional stuffing, roasted gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with candied pecans and cranberry relish. Sinfully Sweet Cakes, Etc. offers a candy-making class on Tuesday and Wednesday. Bakers will teach students to make Christmas bark, truffles, buckeyes, peppermint patties, etc. Supplies are included in a two-night class fee of $75, and you can take home candies you make. Concord Cove Restaurant will be open Thanksgiving Day and serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal, along with its full dinner menu. Concord Cove is now also open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and offers a Sunday brunch starting at 10 a.m. and featuring complimentary fresh fruit, large stack pancakes, omelets, sausage or crispy salmon cakes. Indian Land Masonic Lodge No. 414 hosts a barbecue on Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. until it runs out of food. The Lodge is at 9130 Charlotte Highway (S.C. 521).
