Earth Day results: Ballantyne Corporate Park held its second annual Earth Day event April 21 at the park at 10000 Ballantyne Commons Parkway. At this year's event, 309 participants brought approximately 16,500 pounds of paper to be shredded and recycled. eCycle Secure also recycled more than 5,000 pounds of electronics.
eCybermission: Three teams from Providence Day School won the eCybermission Southeast Regional Competition and will go on to compete in the national competition in Washington, D.C., on June 20-25. The eCybermission competition challenges students in grades six through nine to propose solutions to a real problem in the community using science, math and technology. Farmers market: The Meeting Street Market at Cedar Walk opened May 3 at 11038 Cedar Walk Lane. It will run every Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. May through November.
