Carolina BrewMasters will celebrate the 16th anniversary of Charlotte Oktoberfest 2-6 p.m. Sept. 27 at NC Music Factory.
“This is our second straight year at NC Music Factory,” festival Chief Marketing Officer Cesar Leyva said. “Based on the overwhelming response from festivalgoers, breweries, vendors and volunteers, we knew we had to be back in uptown Charlotte in 2014.”
Guests this year will be able to sample more than 350 beers from more than 100 breweries, check out local food vendors and enjoy live music from U-Phonik and Stella Rising.
Participating regional breweries this year include: Olde Mecklenburg Brewing, Birdsong Brewing, Natty Greene’s Brewing Co., Highland Brewing Co., Heist Brewery, Mother Earth Brewing and The Unknown Brewing Co.
Never miss a local story.
National brewers include Abita, Brooklyn Brewing, Goose Island and Shock Top. There also will be: Stella Artois from Belgium; Spaten Brewery from Germany; Strongbow Cider from the United Kingdom; and Franziskaner from Germany.
The primary goal of Oktoberfest each year is to educate Charlotte residents about craft beers and the growing presence of breweries in the Southeast. The event also raises money and awareness for charities.
The chosen charities for this year are: Kids Rein, a therapeutic horseback-riding program for children struggling with physical, emotional or learning disabilities; Classroom Central, an organization that provides school supplies for children in poverty; and Camp CARE, a program that provides camp for children who have experienced cancer, and their families.
The festival raised more than $75,000 for charities last year.
