The Providence Day girls’ cross country team won its second straight N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A state title Oct. 24 at Jackson Park in Hendersonville.
The Chargers’ 70 points were eight better than second-place Cary Academy (78).
Providence Day only had one runner finish in the top 10 – Emma Brown in eighth at 19 minutes, 43.9 seconds – but had all five of its scoring runners finish in the top 20.
Regan Cronk finished 12th (20:18.11), Molly Kral finished 14th (20:24.49), Katie Brown finished 16th (20:34.27) and Niki Plaus finished 20th (20:47.75).
Covenant Day finished fourth (126), Charlotte Country Day ninth (246) and Charlotte Latin 13th (325).
