Get fit: Reedy Creek Nature Center will offer a "Hike for Your Health" outing every Tuesday in March.

University City

DNC guest list: The University City hospitality industry is abuzz with the announcements of state and territory delegations that will fill thousands of hotel rooms during the Democratic National Convention for nearly a week in early September.

Hilton at University Place, Spring Hill Suites University, Comfort Suites, Courtyard by Marriott and Towne Place Suites are a few of the locations that will host delegates from Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Oregon, Louisiana and elsewhere.

Youth athletics: Registration continues through March 14 for the University City YMCA's youth soccer, flag football, tee ball and coach-pitch baseball leagues in the spring.

The leagues will play March 26 through June 4. The fee is $116 or $88 for YMCA members. For information, contact Terrence Thompson, Terrence.thompson@ymcacharlotte.org or 704-716-6766.

Live well: Author, teacher and professional chef David Mark Seidel will discuss ways to live your life well and nourish yourself and your family spiritually, at noon Feb. 20 in room 200 of the Student Union, 9201 University City Blvd.
