A portion of Johnston-Oehler Road will be closed Monday morning for three weeks, while crews work on the Interstate 485 project.
The N.C. Department of Transportation says crews from Blythe Construction will be connecting a new section of Johnston-Oehler Road with the existing roadway. The work is scheduled for completion July 30.
In the meantime, motorists should use Mallard Creek Road and Prosperity Church Road.
The road closure is part of a $139.5 million project to compete the final 5.7-mile segement of I-485, from near N.C. 115 to near I-85. The finished project will feature an eight-lane freeway and new interchanges at Prosperity Church and Mallard Creek roads.
The project is scheduled for completion in December 2014.
