Revaluation public meetings: The first set of public meetings on the 2011 revaluation of property throughout Mecklenburg County has been announced by Pearson’s Appraisal Services. Attendees will be briefed on the review phases and schedule, and representatives will lead a discussion to learn what property owners want addressed.

Adopt a pet: Charlotte Petco will host a Food, Fun and Fur Block Party to help local homeless pets find homes. The party will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 11 at the store, 1824 E. Arbors Drive.
