Six players on the Charlotte 49ers’ men’s soccer team were honored with postseason awards by Conference USA, league officials announced Nov. 12.

Giuseppe Gentile, a junior forward, and senior midfielder Aidan Kirkbride were named to the all-C-USA first team. Senior defender Thomas Allen was named to the all-league second team.

Sophomore forward Kyle Parker was named to the third team and shared the league’s Golden Boot award as the leading goal scorer. And midfielder Brandt Bronico and defender Luke Waechter were named to C-USA’s all-freshman team.

Gentile scored six goals and added three assists for the 49ers, who finished the regular season at 9-5-3. Kirkbride had two game-winning goals among his four scores.

Parker shared the Golden Boot award with Alabama-Birmingham’s Alex Clay, each scoring seven goals in league play. Parker finished with a team-best 11 goals and three assists overall.

Allen played in 16 matches this season, and was a key member of a Charlotte defense that had a league-leading nine shutouts.

Bronico had two goals in 15 matches for the 49ers, while Waechter scored three times in 16 matches. Bill Kiser
