An apparent shooting in east Charlotte has left a 15-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Sunday.
Police said they discovered the victim when Hickory Grove Division patrol officers responded to a 2:41 p.m. report of assault with a deadly weapon in the 8000 block of Sherington Way.
The victim, who was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, has been transported to Carolinas Medical Center, police said. The victim’s name has not been released.
Police said Sunday evening the case remains under investigation and that detectives were canvassing the area to find any other potential witnesses.
