A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police helicopter spotted two suspects soon after a house was broken into in the University City area this week, enabling officers to quickly arrest them.
The break-in happened shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday in the 7300 block of Balancing Rock Court, off Neal Road and University City Boulevard.
Police credit “an alert and concerned” neighbor with calling 911 to report two suspicious persons walking around houses in the area.
The pair ran away when officers arrived, prompting police to call in K9 units and the helicopter.

Police arrested and charged Marlon Malik Harris, 18, of Charlotte and a 14-year-old boy with felony breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
Harris was jailed on $25,000 bail. The 14-year-old’s case will be heard in juvenile court.
