Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have issued 475 citations for seat belt violations as part of the two-week Governor’s Highway Safety Program’s “Click it or Ticket” campaign, Sgt. David Sloan said.
With assistance from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, police cited drivers at 12 locations.
Police issued 16 citations for child restraint violations, 269 for registration/inspection violations, 48 for driving while license revoked and 34 for no operator’s license.
Police have filed a total of 958 charges during the campaign, which continues through Sunday.
