A 19-year-old woman hit by a car on Pineville-Matthews Road in south Charlotte earlier this week has died of her injuries, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Friday.
Police found Jeanny Phara Lamartiniere, 19, lying in the roadway unresponsive after they were called to the 4400 block of Pineville-Matthews Road near McPherson Drive around 1 a.m. Wednesday.
WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, reported that Lamartiniere had left her car during an argument with a male passenger before she was struck.
Lamartiniere was taken to Carolinas Medical Center after the incident, police said.

Police said a male witness who was with Lamartiniere reported that the car that hit her then headed east on Pineville-Matthews Road toward Providence Road.
Police continue to ask for help in finding the motorist who struck Lamartiniere.
Police said they are searching for a burgundy 1993-1997 Infiniti J30 that will be missing the driver’s side mirror and likely have damage to the driver’s side quarter panel, hood and windshield. Police at first believed the car was a Nissan.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the driver of the Infiniti is asked to call Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Detective Andrew Oberer at 704-432-2169 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
