Union County sheriff’s investigators are still trying to determine what led to a couple’s shooting in their home on Parkstone Drive in Indian Trail on Tuesday morning.
Robert Reps, 54, was fatally shot, and his wife remains hospitalized in unknown condition, sheriff’s spokesman Tony Underwood said Thursday.
Authorities are not releasing the wife’s name while she is hospitalized, Underwood said. It’s unknown how long she will be in the hospital, he said.
While investigators found weapons inside, “we don’t know everything that happened in that house,” Underwood told the Observer.
“We haven’t had the opportunity to have a detailed conversation with her,” he said of Reps’ wife.
Investigators, however, don’t believe the shootings were random, Underwood said. “There’s no reason for the neighborhood to be concerned,” he said.
A woman called 911 at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday to say she had been shot, Underwood said outside the home in the 5700 block Tuesday morning. The man, later identified as Reps, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
