Two people were shot in Mooresville Tuesday night, according to officials.
The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. near the intersection of Kelly Avenue and Alexander Street, a police statement said.
Mooresville Police responded to a call that shots had been fired. Shortly afterward, officers learned that two people with gunshot wounds had arrived at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center.
One victim, Cameron Patterson, 20, of Mooresville has a gunshot wound in his back, police said, and the second, Teyonta Davis, 20, of Mooresville has a gunshot wound in his leg. Neither injury was considered life-threatening.
Mooresville Police requested assistance from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office for crowd control at the hospital because of a gathering of concerned family members of the victims, the statement said.
