Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they are looking for a man who allegedly cut off his electronic monitoring device in Charlotte’s South End district.
The suspect’s name is Kevin Lee Sims, and police said he cut off the device Tuesday. He was last seen near South Boulevard and East Park Avenue, according to police.
Sims, 19, had been arrested in December on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and damage to property. According to police, he was released on $25,000 bond on Dec. 14 but agreed to wear the monitoring device.
Anyone with information on Sims’ whereabouts is asked to call CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehenstion Team, at 704-336-VCAT, or call 911.
He is described as a black male, 5 feet 7 and 140 pounds, with tattoos on his face.
