$8,000 worth of cell phones stolen in Hickory

An alarm brought officers to the Bark Mobile store about 5:45 a.m. Police found the store’s back door had been pried open.

Police in Hickory are investigating the theft of about 40 cell phones Tuesday morning from a store on U.S. 70.

An alarm brought officers to the Bark Mobile store about 5:45 a.m. Police found the store’s back door had been pried open.

Authorities say the stolen phones had a value of more than $8,100. Police are looking at surveillance video in hopes of developing suspects in the case.
