Albemarle police say an arrest earlier this week is their response to another round of counterfeit money being used in Stanly County.
Tiante Rasheed Leak of Albemarle was arrested after an investigation by Albemarle police and the U.S. Secret Service, according to authorities in Stanly County. He was charged with forgery of instrument and uttering a forged instrument.
Leak, 18, is scheduled for his initial court appearance March 3. Albemarle police say they expect more arrests in the case soon.
This round of counterfeiting comes one year after police in Albemarle made four arrests on the same charges.
