Rowan County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man in connection with a convenience store robbery earlier this week near China Grove.
Investigators say they have identified Harry Alex Butler as the suspect in Tuesday’s robbery of Steve’s Corner Market, in the 4100 block of Lentz Road.
According to investigators, a man entered the store, displayed what the clerk believed to be a gun, and demanded money. He ran off after taking money from the cash register, authorities said.
During the investigation, authorities said, Butler was identified as the suspect. Deputies say he already was wanted on probation violation charges, but now he also faces a robbery with a dangerous weapon charge. Authorities say his last known address was the homeless shelter in Salisbury.
He is believed to be in the China Grove or Kannapolis area, according to deputies.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact detectives at 704-216-8682 or 704-216-8687. Or information can be left with Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
