A man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman six weeks ago was captured Friday morning in Baltimore, Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen said.
Reginald O’Dell Jr., 31, was taken into custody by federal marshals at a residence, Allen said.
“We knew he was in the Baltimore area,” Allen said. “My office had been working with the SBI and the U.S. marshals on this matter. We knew it was just a matter of time before we would find him.”
O’Dell faces first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon charges. Those stem from the shootings of a man and woman on Dec. 30 in eastern Anson County. The woman, 32-year-old Dorian Miles of Polkton, was killed. Hason Pressley, 33, of Wadesboro was shot in the chest but survived.
The shooting took place about 3:30 a.m. Dec. 30 at a home on Branch Street in Lilesville. Investigators said at the time of the shooting that the suspect and victims knew one another.
Allen said O’Dell was taken into custody in Baltimore “without incident.” He said the extradition process was under way to return O’Dell to Anson County.
