A former Fort Mill High School student was charged after trespassing on school property Tuesday morning, according to a Fort Mill police report.
The school resource officer was called to one of the buildings at the high school because of an unknown intruder. He was told he ran out the back door of the building. When the officer saw him, he recognized him as Joshua Keene, 18, a former student.
Keene ran across the parking lot of Riverview Elementary School, which is next to Fort Mill High, and continued running off campus and into the woods behind apartments on Rea Circle.
Several people chased Keene, including the SRO, Fort Mill police officers and an assistant principal on a golf cart.
Keene was stopped by officers who noticed he smelled of alcohol. A breathalyzer test showed he had a blood alcohol content of .10. He was charged with trespassing on school property, disturbing schools and minor in possession of alcohol.
As of Wednesday afternoon, he was still at the York County Detention Center on a $3,075 bond.
