A Hickory man was sentenced to prison this week on habitual felon charges, according to the District Attorney’s office in Caldwell County.

Colby Shane Garrick, 28, was convicted of breaking and entering and habitual breaking and entering, prosecutors said. He was sentenced to between 30 and 48 months in prison.

Authorities say Garrick previously was convicted of habitual breaking and entering status in Catawba County and sentenced to between 33 and 52 months in prison on that charge. Prosecutors said Garrick will serve the Caldwell County sentenced after the Catawba County sentence.

Prosecutors said Garrick’s crimes in Caldwell County took place last July and involved a residential break-in.
