A woman urged “Jesus” to stop fighting with police after authorities found them having sex in a car outside a Rock Hill elementary school, and later wound up in a scuffle with the man when he lied about his identity, police say.
The man, Jesus McCreary, 22, of Rock Hill was charged with false information to police and resisting arrest.
At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, an officer patrolling near Heckle Boulevard noticed a white Sedan parked in front of Old Pointe Elementary School, according to a Rock Hill police report. As the officer drove closed, he noticed that almost all the windows were “fogged up and he could barely make out the two subjects inside.” Finally, he saw a shirtless man and a pants-less woman in the back seat.
The man and woman both told the officer they were having sex, the report states. They put their clothes back on as the officer asked for their names. The man told the officer he did not have an ID. Another officer arrived as backup as the man claimed he has never been issued a state ID or driver’s license. Police said he had a “very bad attitude” and became uncooperative.
He later told police his name was “Chris McCreary,” born Aug. 31, 1991, the report states. Police checked with dispatchers and the state Department of Motor Vehicles, but could not find anyone matching that name. He claimed he had an ID, but did not have it with him. He maintained that his name was “Chris McCreary.” Police began to arrest the man because he continued to be uncooperative and untruthful, the report states. The woman began shouting at the officers, during which the man, his wrists handcuffed behind his back, tried to push the officer backwards with his body.
The man tried to run, but the officer grabbed him by his hooded sweatshirt and tried taking him to the ground, the report states. The officer was able to grab the man and take him to the ground, while another officer helped reinforce the cuffs. The woman shouted, “Jesus stop...stop fighting Jesus!” Once the man had been arrested, she confirmed that his real name was Jesus McCreary.
McCreary gave officers his correct birthday, but told them he lied about his name because he did not know if his “record was clean,” the report states. He was released form jail Saturday on a $1,500 bond.
