Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly punched two women who were jogging last week in south Charlotte.

The assault, reported last Friday, took place on a jogging trail near the tunnel under Fairview Road in the Foxcroft community between Carmel and Colony roads.

Police said two women reported they were confronted near the tunnel by a man who yelled at them and then hit them. The victims were not seriously injured, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s with a medium build. He had light-colored skin, dark eyebrows and was clean-shaven.

At the time of the attack, the man was wearing black athletic shorts, a blue hoodie and a green toboggan with cream-colored stripes. He might have been riding a bicycle, police said.

CMPD said it has increased patrols in the area.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
