Pedestrian struck, killed in northern Charlotte

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed in northern Charlotte on Thursday night.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on North Tryon Street between Eastway Drive and Old Concord Road, according to police.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police investigators had not released the name of the victim late Thursday, pending family notification.
Police had not determined if the weather or road conditions contributed to the crash. Cleve R. Wootson Jr.
