A second suspect in the March 8 shooting death of Dexter Lattimore on Julia Avenue turned himself in at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department late Thursday.

Keith Wesley Jones, 53, was charged with murder and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail without bond, police said.

On Tuesday, another suspect, Frederick Gales, 38, was charged with murder in Lattimore’s death after turning himself in at police headquarters. An anonymous Crime Stopper’s tip led police to identify Gales as a suspect.

On March 8, Medic received a call for service in the 2200 block of Julia Avenue and found Lattimore unresponsive. Lattimore, 30, had been shot. Medic personnel pronounced him dead.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call police at 704-432-TIPS (8477) or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
