A Lincolnton teenager has been arrested and charged on three counts of cyberstalking, after sheriff’s investigators said he tweeted threats against law enforcement officers.

Marcus Daniel Sintoni, 19, was in the Lincoln County Detention Center on Friday under a $7,500 secured bond pending a court appearance.

The bond was high for misdemeanor charges but reflected the seriousness with which the sheriff’s office treats the threats, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Sheriff’s investigators said they received a tip on Feb. 4 about threatening tweets placed on Twitter on Jan. 28, Feb. 2 and Feb. 4.

The first tweet said, “I’ll kill as many as I can if they catch us or run and kill as many as we can before we get away, lol,” investigators said.

The second tweet included, “I hate police and I wanna kill police.”

The third tweet said, “I hate police ... I know u reading too, so come at me, I’m ready, yo to all police, **** you I wanna kill you. I’ll show my word.”

Sheriff’s investigators said they believe the angry tweets stemmed from a traffic stop on N.C. 16 Business in eastern Lincoln County. Sintoni was among five people in a car in which two occupants were charged with unspecified offenses. Sintoni wasn’t charged.

Sintoni was arrested by state Alcohol Law Enforcement officers in Charlotte on Feb. 27 on the cyberstalking charges and was turned over to Lincoln County investigators on March 12.
