Lincoln teen, Caldwell man face child-sex charges

Deputies said Tyler Jordan Hall was charged with one count each of crime against nature, indecent liberties with a child, and first-degree sexual offense.

A 19-year-old Lincoln County man and a 35-year-old man from Caldwell County have been jailed in Lincolnton, in separate sex-related cases involving children, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities accuse Tyler Jordan Hall, a Stanley teen, of committing sex offenses with an 11-year-old boy.

Matthew Chad Beaver, of Lenoir, has been accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Deputies said Hall turned himself in to police Tuesday. He was charged with crimes against nature, indecent liberties with a child and first-degree sexual offense.

Detectives began investigating the case Feb. 18 after getting a report from the Lincoln County Department of Social Services, deputies said. The alleged incident took place in November at Hall’s residence.

Investigators said the 11-year-old victim is a friend of the suspect’s family.

Hall was jailed on a$90,000 bond and faces a first court appearance Wednesday in Lincolnton.

Beaver, meanwhile, was arrested late last week and charged with two counts each of statutory rape and statutory sex offense.

Social services workers in Lincoln County learned of the alleged crimes last month, deputies said, adding they believethe offenses took place in March 2012 when the victimwas 14.

The suspect knew the victim, and the incident took place at the girl’s home, according to investigators.

Beaver’s bond originally was set at $80,000, but it was doubled after a Monday hearing, deputies said.
