Fight between Lincoln brothers leaves 1 hospitalized

Deputies said John Wright stabbed his brother Rodney during an altercation at their mother’s home.

Lincoln County authorities say no charges have been filed in a fight between two brothers that left one man hospitalized with stab wounds.

The sheriff’s office said brothers John Wright, 43, and Rodney Scott Wright, 45, each of Vale, got into an argument Wednesday morning at their mother’s house on Concord Road.

Deputies said Rodney Wright hit his brother with a wine bottle, then went outside, picked up a wooden handle, and came back into the house. Investigators said John Wright then pulled a knife and stabbed his brother in the side.

Rodney Wright was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby and is expected to survive, authorities said. Detectives said the District Attorney’s office ruled the case to be self-defense.
