The man whose body was found on a west Charlotte street Sunday night was slain elsewhere, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say. Detectives have identified the victim as Brian Dale Jones, 41. Police believe he was dead when dumped along the 8900 block of Old Dowd Road. His body was discovered about 10 p.m. Sunday.

Police have not said how Jones was killed. They are asking the public’s help in the case. The vehicle Jones was driving – a green 1998 Mazda 626 with N.C. license tag AMK-4692 – has not been found. Steve Lyttle
