Police say a 53-year-old Concord man died Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle wreck.
Police identified the driver as Nadar Jalayer. He died when the 2000 Audi S4 Quattro he was driving crashed shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Clover Road NW beat Riverglen Drive NW.
Investigators said Jalayer was driving south on Clover Road, when his car went off the right side of the road, struck a sign, then veered back over the road and hit several trees. Nobody else was in the car, police said.
Investigators said speed appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash, and they said the victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
