Rowan County deputies arrested a Kannapolis teen Saturday morning who failed to appear in court this month for heroin trafficking charges.
The arrest came a day after the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office released a public notice asking for information about Brandon Rumple’s whereabouts and offering a $1,000 reward for his arrest.
Rumple, 19, never showed for his trial the first week of March in Cabarrus County Superior Court on a heroin trafficking charge from April 2012, according to a release from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Rumple was arrested after deputies seized more than 200 grams of heroin during a search at a Charlotte residence, the release said. He also has additional drug and weapons cases pending in Rowan County.
On Saturday morning, the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office told Rowan County deputies Rumple might be at a home in the 3200 block of Patterson Road in China Grove, the release said.
The deputies found Rumple there. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center on a $1 million secured bond.
