Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they have arrested three teenagers as suspects in last Sunday’s shootings near a Cook-Out restaurant in north Charlotte.
The shootings took place shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Sunset Road, a short distance from Interstate 77. Police said five people were wounded and needed hospitalization. They all survived.
Investigators said detectives identified three men as suspects and made the arrests Friday morning. They identified the men as Michael Moore, Demontravis Reid and Rodney Rodriguez Reid. Rodney Reid is 19. The other two are 18.
Police said each suspect was charged with one count of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury; two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill; and three counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Police said Demontravis Reid and Rodney Reid also will be charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
