2 Belmont restaurant employees robbed on break

Belmont police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a pair of restaurant employees while they were taking a break Tuesday night.
Police said the robbery was reported about 11:45 p.m. near the String Bean, a restaurant in the 100 block of North Main Street.
The employees told police they had gone outside to take a break, when two men approached. Each of the men appeared to be armed with a handgun, according to police.
One of the suspects struck an employee in the head, and then both victims were ordered to get on the ground, according to police. The two suspects went through the victims’ pockets and stole personal items before running off.
Police said the employee who was struck apparently suffered minor injuries.
