A Stanly County woman has been charged with narcotics offenses after authorities say they found drugs hidden on the suspect when she was jailed.

Regina Diane Canter, 60, was arrested Saturday when deputies went to a residence near Oakboro to serve her with a previous arrest warrant, the sheriff’s office said.

Canter was taken to jail, and investigators said female detention officers found drugs under her clothing, hidden inside a rubber glove. Canter was charged with trafficking opium or heroin, possession of a controlled substance in a jail, and assault.

She was jailed under $50,500 bond. Steve Lyttle
