CMPD seeks man in alleged assault on woman

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they are looking for a man in connection with an alleged attack on a woman 2 1/2 months ago in north Charlotte.

The suspect is identified by investigators as Damien Mackey, 35. He is wanted in connection with a case that took place March 1.

Police said charges pending against Mackey are assault on a female, interfering with emergency communication, false imprisonment, communicating threats and common law robbery.

Police said Mackey is a black male, 5 feet 8 and close to 175 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, typically with the hair in dreadlocks below his shoulder. He also has a goatee, police said.

Anyone with information as to Mackey’s whereabouts is asked 911.
