Two people were injured in a pair of shootings Tuesday morning in north Charlotte.

The shootings forced a lockdown at a nearby middle school.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said officers were called shortly after 11 a.m. to the 3500 block of Durham Lane. That is off Statesville Road, north of Cindy Lane.

Police said they found one man with a gunshot wound. A short time later, officers found another wounded victim. Police said the two victims were taken to the hospital with injuries that are serious but not life-threatening.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police called in their K-9 dog search unit and were looking in the area around midday Tuesday. Ranson Middle School, about 3/8 of a mile from the shooting scene, was on lockdown for about 10 minutes, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools spokeswoman.

But later in the afternoon, a CMPD spokesman said all of those involved in the shootings knew each other, and the incident was the result of an earlier disagreement. Detectives said they are not looking for additional suspects.
