After a four-month undercover investigation, authorities have arrested and charged a 16-year-old South Rowan High School student with trafficking opiates.
Austin Hunter Graham of Kannapolis was arrested at the school on Thursday after a school resource officer found a residue amount of heroin on him, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said.
A Rowan County sheriff’s investigator was called to the school and charged Graham with two counts each of trafficking opiates by possession and trafficking opiates by sale.
The investigation included undercover officers buying hydrocodone from Graham on Jan. 23 and March 17, according to a sheriff’s office statement.
Graham was in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond on Friday pending a court appearance.
