Detectives have charged a man in connection with two alleged rape cases in southwest Charlotte.
Andre Jerlynn Jones, 29, was arrested last Friday and charged with first-degree forcible rape, second-degree forcible rape and carrying a concealed weapon, police said.
Investigators said Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called shortly after 11 p.m. May 15 to the 2000 block of Emerywood Drive. A woman said she had arranged to meet a man there, but she said the man sexually assaulted her.
At about 5 a.m. May 22, police were called to the same address, where another woman told officers she was raped at knifepoint. Once again, the victim had arranged to meet a man there.
Police said the suspect returned to the address again May 23 and was arrested.
